I really enjoyed my stay at the Wigwam Motel! The gentleman who checked me in was so nice and genuinely seemed to love his job and the history behind the motel and Route 66. The room was immaculately clean and the bed was comfortable. I had a swim in the pool after check in, and it was very clean and refreshing -- the perfect thing after driving all day. When I woke up in the morning I had a chance to check out the rest of the property. The owners clearly take pride in their business. The landscaping was lush and beautiful, and the condition of the buildings looked like they were freshly restored. When I checked out in the morning, I browsed the gift shop, and bought some unique route 66 goodies. I was also offered a freshly brewed cup of coffee by the nice guy in the morning. If it were my property, the only thing I would do is remove the large florescent light fixture in the room, which is super bright and sterile looking. I would replace it with some smaller table and/or floor lamps with warm colored lighting. That would bring out the ambience of these unique rooms. I will definitely stay here again when in the area.
